This is what Reetamaria aims in her artistry.

After her master studies with Hans Pålsson at the Malmö Academy of Music where she graduated with the highest honors in 2019 Reetamaria has dedicated herself to interpreting minimalist and contemporary compositions as a solo pianist. Her debut album, "SILENCE," released in 2022, displays the captivating simplicity of Nordic minimalism by esteemed Finnish and Swedish composers.

The debut album SILENCE has been fantastically received. In the article in Klassisk Bureau, Rachel Einarsson wrote:

"SILENCE is that kind of music you just want to listen to over and over. You want it as yet another piece of furniture in your home. That is quality. The music formulates emotions and messages that can actually be used."

Sara Norling also praises Rajala in the Swedish Radio’s Music Review: "In 'Psychedelic' by Finnish composer Cecilia Damström, she delves deep into the piano's sound. How much or how little is needed to keep interest alive? Perhaps it's the pure simplicity of the piece featured on the debut album of Malmö-based pianist Reetamaria Rajala that does the trick. Rajala's album, with its clear vision and unique playing style, definitely catches my attention."

Reetamaria has also collaborated with musicians like Evelyn Glennie (with Kvinnorkestern in 2022), accordionist Minna Weurlander (at the Sibeliusfestival at Malmö Live in 2021, a producer of her debut album SILENCE 2022). Currently, she is engaged in collaborative projects with composers, interdisciplinary art forms, organisations and festivals across the Nordic countries and the UK.

In 2018 Reetamaria Rajala was awarded The Music Prize of the Lund University Science Society. The award was given with the following statement:

The pianist Reetamaria Rajala’s lively, temperamental and inspirational personality and musicianship, her energy and dedication to every work she studies and plays makes her an outstanding soloist and also an excellent chamber musician. She has a desire to penetrate the secrets of complicated musical works and an ever-growing ability to work. Reetamaria Rajala is already an artistic force in our music life.
